My hometown Detroit Tigers....a winning April? You've got to be kidding...granted they could improve by 30 wins this year and still lose 89 games..but it's good to know that baseball has a pulse in Motown.

See...I hate to sound Limbaugh-esque...but it's crazy columns like this that really turn off a lot of Americans to liberalism. Liberalism on it's own is a valuable concept that has allowed this country to free slaves and give women the right to vote.
But, somewhere in that democratic base, people need to figure out THIS is the way that many Americans identify the democratic party, with nut jobs like this.
The writer seems to forget that soldiers do not choose where they will serve, they serve where they are sent. No one goes to war hoping to die, and those that do die for the country, even for a cause that not all agree with, still deserve a modicum of respect and honor.

Hmmm...I wouldn't call myself a raging liberal, but I can't help but feel that the president thinks we can't handle the truth (insert Jack Nicolson impersonation).
This isn't anything too new, it's been in circulation for a week, but it's 288 photos of flag draped coffins that have come back from the Iraq conflict.
The White House is furious about this, they don't want us to see these photos for some reason...something about respect for families, etc...and yet when the same president started his re-election campaign he ran an ad showing a flag draped coffin coming out of the WTC. I don't want to be a cynic...but does anyone doubt that if this war had taken 60 days with 10 american dead that we would have known their names by now?
My sister is having a hard time selling an unused wedding dress, and I'm thinking this may have been a better way to go about selling it...it's all in the marketing.
I have a lot of students who would probably do the same thing....sometimes it gets a little scary to see what high costs will drive a student to do. But it's definitely a creative solution.

I find it kind of funny that even in the world of alpacas...they are trying to be multiculturally competent.
